I think this would probably be a tad too cartoony/over the top for the book, but it's a fantastic illustration none the less.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work man. I am very impressed with your diversity and execution. Seems like a lot of people can do something ruff (with wonderful life to it) but choke when cleaning it up and making a professional presentation. I look forward to looking at your stuff as time goes on.

Yeah, I've definitely gotta come up with something more graphic for this. Hopefully some of you guys will give it a go too?
ReplyDeleteProbably a good idea to try to convey a sense of loneliness rather than a big party. Huge block of flat color for the sea- tiny speck in the middle for the boat? might give it a go.
ReplyDeleteYeah absolutely, you should enter too. My image does look kinda like a big party - never thought of that before!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna re-read the book & approach from different angle.
ey Matt, this is beautifull man.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alberto, did you read the book - it's beautiful too. I hear the latest director attached to the movie is Jean-Pierre Jeunet - great choice! Love to work on that!
