I love the personality of the cop and the fat old man on the first set of drawings, they'd make some excellent characters for animation. The Russian Hill one also has some real nice charm to it. Lovely stuff Matt. Diolch.
Thanks for the encouragement folks. Brant, I never usually take more than an hour over a location sketch but the Grant Ave. drawing probably took longer as I was holed up in a window seat at the restaurant.
oh boy, i love your internal scenes, like the one with the piano and the one with the parrot cage... the perspective and design work together! great stuff matt j!
Thanks for the comments folks! These pics were made with a selection of dried out marker pens- mostly Tombow brush pens and calligraphy pens for their chisel-like nibs that allow for very thick and fine marks in one!

so many details in your drawings, fantastic!
3300 Mission and Grant St are my faves. How long (on average) did it take to whip these full scenes out?
