. . . so good they named him
twice (almost)! My colleague likes 2-D animation, strawberry milk-shakes & sleeping. But most of all he likes to draw the cute girls on the beach!
Check out his great sketches at his
site & don't miss his superb animation
line-tests.

Hey !!!
thank you Matt,
thank you very much !!!
Cool stuff, man!
I love it! Your picture is also good, MJ!
Great sketch Matt. Glad to see things are treating you well. The blog is looking top notch as per norm.
great stuff, im Inspired.
Wow, that guy surely is talented.
the woman getting out of bed is so realistic, and the timing on re-arranging her pants is spot on! There seems to be some true talent in France.
That's a great piccy !! :D
ha, nice view and nice sketch.
If you think Antoine's LINETESTS are good click on the POST-IT section for a nice surprise!! He did this one LUNCH-TIME...
Antoine was nice enough to post that spectacular line test of the sexy lady getting out of bed on an animation/illustration forum that I visit often.
It can be a tetchy place at times and the bastards leaped up instantly screaming "Rotoscoped! Rotoscoped!".
Fucking bastards...
Yeah, he told me about that. I was at the studio in Paris when he was working on it & there was no live action reference at all- he did it all from memory. His beach sketches support this. He observes a gesture or pose for as long as it's held then spends 20 mins 'finishing' the sketch from memory. His facility for anatomy, turning forms in space & camera lens distortion is amazing to me.
I checked out the line tests, Bloody Hell!!! i fell of my seat, and people turned round and laughed. They are awsome. I also really like the post it animation, it just goes to show that great animation does not need super flashy computers and technology...
I've just seen the post it.... it's official, I'm giving up animation
some serious talent out there in the sun
WOW - amazing stuff - very inspiring, both of you!
Are you comparing Antoine to Reggae Reggae sauce?
Yes - it is beautiful.
Everyone kept insisting that there was a camera "bump" which gave away its rotoscoped origins.
I recall Antoine doing his best to rebuke this claim.
How sad.
Well, I just re-viewed it several times & I the only 'bumps' I see are under the lady's vest!
Those Drawing Board 'critics' can be pedantic.
Wow!! That guys sketches are brilliant!! Thanks for shining the spotlight on him, very inspiring.
They are a ruthless bunch of fuckers sometimes, unfortunately.
