Dear Jonez; It is wonderful of you to show the ignoramuses of the animation world the work of a genius like Kiraz...I met him in Paris some years ago. He was a great gentleman in the good old fashioned sense of the word. I've been in his studio and he treated me with champagne and showed me his extraordinary paintings..He also gave me a signed copy of one of his books. May God rest his soul in a paradise full of beautiful long legged "Parisiennes"!
shoot! i'm too late. is it available in UK? i'll search the internet. i have a collection of cartoons torn out of the pages of playboy (don't tell my mom).
Hey Oscar, thanks for sharing the wonderful anecdote - the meeting of Grillo & Kiraz boggles the mind! He doesn't rendezvous with just anybody - that's like being awarded the French Medal Of Honour. Grew up on your commercial work Mr. G - it's great to see you blogging. Did you have to ANIMATE in Kiraz's style for a job? Vive les Parissiennes!
